MARCH MAT-NESS: A MONTH LONG CELEBRATION OF PILATES

As winter fades and spring awakens, there’s no better time to refresh your movement routine and recommit to mindful movement. Enter MARCH MAT-NESS a month-long celebration of Pilates that honors Joseph Pilates’ classical mat exercises while inspiring modern interpretations along the way.

Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or just rolling out your mat for the first time, March Mat-ness is the perfect opportunity to deepen your practise, build strength, and reconnect with your body.

WHAT IS MARCH MAT-NESS?

Created by Pilates enthusiast and educator Benjamin Degenhardt, March Mat-ness follows the traditional sequence of Joseph Pilates’ 34 mat exercises, highlighting one move per day throughout the month.  The celebration encourages students, teachers, and studios worldwide to share their personal interpretations, modifications, and experiences with these exercises-often though social media, classes and community events.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

  • Follow the Sequence - Practice one classical mat exercise per day.

  • Share Your Journey - Post photos or videos using the hashtag #MarchMatness

  • Join a Challenge - Many studios and teachers host special March Mat-ness, see what’s happening in your area (or here online with us!)

  • Modify  & Make It Your Own - Not every move is for every body. Adjust exercises as needed and focus on what feels good for you.
