Stress expresses itself in the body in many forms. Sometimes it can look like classic anxiety and frustration while other times it can look like exhaustion, lack of motivation, or inability to focus. This workshop will explore the Polyvagal Theory (introduced by Steven Porges), its importance to our stress response, and how we can use the yoga practice to find balance in the varying stress states.

Yoga for Stress Relief: A Four-Part Series Jacqui Ferraiolo

This four part series will explore the Polyvagal Theory (introduced by Steven Porges), its importance to our stress response, and how we can use the yoga practice to find balance in the varying stress states. Each session will consist of a mini-lesson on parts of the stress response, an all-levels accessible yoga practice, and time to reflect solo and (if desired) in community with the other members in the workshop. The goal of this workshop is to help give practitioners awareness of their body’s tendencies when experiencing stress, give them tools to help regulate stress, and to also introduce community support through group discussion and interaction.
